Shirley Hawk

April 9, 1929 — January 14, 2021

Shirley M. Hawk, 91, of Greensburg, died Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Weatherwood Manor, Greensburg.  She was born on April 9, 1929 in Jeannette, PA, a daughter of the late D. Robert and Mary Bossart Miller.  She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Greensburg.  She was a graduate of Greensburg High School in 1947 and graduated from Western Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing.  Prior to retirement, Shirley worked as a private duty nurse.  She volunteered at the Red Cross Blood Bank and other various organizations.  She was a member of Westmoreland Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William P. Hawk; her brother, Kenneth Miller and son-in-law, Kip Weber.  She is survived by her children, David W. Hawk (Elizabeth), Daniel L. Hawk (Janine) and Denise Hewitt (Bill); her sister, Vera Steele; 6 grandchildren, Aaron Hawk, Jennifer Hawk, Scott Hawk (Michelle), Benjamin Hawk (Emily), Rob Weber (Ashley), Amanda Smail (Jeff); 1 great granddaughter, Olivia Hawk; 2 sisters-in-law, Marie Miller and Dorothy McKenny; step grandchildren, William Hewitt (Sofia), Tom Hewitt and Nicholas Hewitt; 1 great step grandson, Oz Hewitt;  also, several nieces and nephews.  Shirley’s funeral services will be private.  A memorial service for Shirley will be held and announced at a later date.  Arrangements are being handled by Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, Greensburg.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Westmoreland County Food Bank, 100 Devonshire Drive, Delmont, PA 15626 or to First Presbyterian Church, 300 South Main Street, Greensburg, PA 15601.  For online condolences, please visit www.kepplegraft.com.
