Mildred Allwine

Mildred B. “Millie” Allwine, 94, of Greensburg, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at Westmoreland Manor after suffering with dementia for many years. She was born October 28, 1926, in Greensburg, the daughter of the late William Taylor Bush, Jr. and Bessie Bell Brown Bush. Millie graduated from Jeannette High School in 1944. She was a long-time member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Delmont.  After retiring from Star Chevrolet in 1984, she loved spending winters in Florida and RV travelling with her husband, Rusty.  Millie was an accomplished seamstress and avid cross-stitcher; she loved playing cards and bingo; her pie and cookie baking skills were extraordinary. Most of all, though, she loved spending time with her family, at home or, in her words, “going and doing.”  Mildred is survived by her children Deborah Allwine and husband Bernard North, Beth Allwine, and Gary Allwine, and her grandchildren Robert and Angela North. In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her devoted husband Robert F. Allwine; her brothers, Harry W., Robert S., and Paul M. Bush; and Beth’s life partner, Ron Florence.  Funeral arrangements are being handled by Kepple-Graft Funeral Home and are private. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Westmoreland County Food Bank, 100 Devonshire Drive, Delmont PA 15626; Salem Lutheran Church, 301 E. Pittsburgh Street, Delmont, PA 15626; or a charity of one’s choice.
