Kenneth Smith

Kenneth L. “Ken” Smith,   61 , of New Alexandria, died on  Friday, April 9, 2021 surrounded by his loving family in Select Specialty Hospital-Pittsburgh/UPMC.   He was born in Latrobe on October 18, 1959, a son of the late Robert E. Smith Jr.  and Edith Kepple Smith.  He was a member of Word of Life Church, Greensburg.  He was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator and was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 66.  Ken enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, food, cruises and vacations with his family.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Smith.  He is survived by his wife, Brenda Weed Smith; his children, Mike Smith (Megan), Julianne Terrill (Lee), and Andrew “Andy” Smith (Brittney) and 4 grandchildren, Mia and Marco Smith, Eli and Ethan Terrill; sister, Carolyn Ryan; brother, Bill Smith (Carol); sister-in-law, Donna Smith; a number of nieces and nephews; former wife, Denise Smith.  The Smith family would like to give a special thanks to Jim Nolan for his care and compassion for Ken.  Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 3 to 7 pm at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg. Guests are asked to social distance and to wear masks. Additional viewing will be held on Monday from10am until the time of Ken’s service at11am in Word of Life Church, 4497 PA-136, Greensburg.  Interment will follow in New Alexandria Union Cemetery.
