Isaac Smith

Isaac Donald Smith 89 of Pinetop, AZ passed away peacefully, March 25, 2023, at home surrounded by his wife Bonnie and loving family.  Isaac came to the area in 1969 as a minister of The Church of Jesus Christ, headquarters Monongahela, PA

He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Gertrude Smith of Elizabeth, PA, seven sisters and five brothers. Survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Bonnie (Calabrese) Smith, children Isaac (Rachel) of South Carolina; Brian (Stacey) Queen Creek, AZ; Thomas of Fort Worth, TX; Tamara Arcuri (Joseph) of Chandler, AZ and Brent of Lakeside, AZ.   There are 15 Grandchildren and 15 Great grandchildren along with nieces and nephews.

Mr. Smith proudly served his country active in the Army, 1956-1958.  His tour of duty included being based in Germany.   He also enjoyed working for UPS as a driver and retired after 20 years in 1996.

He was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ July 1, 1956, ordained a minister in The Church of Jesus Christ, October of 1961, an Evangelist, April of 1967 and Apostle, October of 1997.  He presided over multiple congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ, served as National President of the General Missionary Benevolent Association, which organization focused primarily on the youth.  While serving as President of the GMBA, an annual “campout” was established.  After 50 plus years this event is still an active endeavor every year.   After being ordained as an Evangelist he felt called to spread the gospel as a missionary.  Dedicated to working for The Lord, he loved sharing The Gospel Restored with The White Mountain Apache Tribe.  He traveled extensively for the Church of Jesus Christ to locations locally and abroad.

As a family they traveled many places, coast to coast, Mexico and Canada. Highlights of travel included camping and fishing, visiting family and friends along the way.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, April 7, 2023 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg.

Additional visitation will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ in Monongahela 525 6th Street, Monongahela, PA 15063 from 9am until the time of service at 10am.

Interment will follow with military honors at Mt.Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Township.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Church of Jesus Christ Building Funds, P.O. Box 871, Lakeside, Arizona 85929 in Isaac's name.
