Wilson “Lee” Vettenburg, 79, of Jeannette, died, Tuesday October 27, 2020 at his home. He was born in Corry, PA on January 7, 1941, a son of the late John Vettenburg and Virginia Laird Vettenburg. He was Methodist by faith. Prior to retirement, he worked as a window maker for Crestline Window Company and then as a machine maintenance for Suburban Molding. Lee was a “Mr. Fix It” and could build anything. When he was young he quit high school to work on the family farm and was involved with rodeo horses. He enjoyed playing banjo and guitar in bluegrass bands. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 3 brothers, Steve, D.J. and Ed Vettenburg and a brother in law, Mark Bernosky. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Christie Hammerbeck Vettenburg; his children, Sherrie Slovey (Eric), Tina Vettenburg (Don Long), Richard Vettenburg, Stefanie Miller (Bill) and Brandon Bertch; 4 sisters, Dawn Bean, Dolly Murkins, Debbie Bernosky and Donna Mack (Ron); brother, Cy Vettenburg (Paula); 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; also, several nieces and nephews.
