Wendy Ann McIlvaine

Wendy Ann McIlvaine, 68, of South Greensburg, died, Friday, February 13, 2026, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. She was born July 14, 1957, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late, William Francis “Apple” McIlvaine and Betty Jane Shrader McIlvaine. Wendy was a member of South Greensburg United Methodist Church. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Westmoreland County, as a 911 dispatcher. Wendy was a social member of several local clubs including the AMS Club, VFW Post 33 and the American Legion Post 981, where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. As an avid dog lover, she enjoyed volunteer work walking dogs for Heal Animal Rescue.

Family and friends knew of Wendy’s zest for life. Through her final gift as a CORE donor, her light now shines in others. A recently discovered handwritten birthday card to Wendy from her parents sums up her many attributes. It reads, “to our beautiful daughter, you are kind, loving, caring, sweet, helpful, thoughtful, wonderful and outstanding. All these things make you very special.”

Wendy is survived by her sister, Becky Nowicki; her niece Stacy Muetzel, whom she cherished; special cousins, Jack and Georgia Smith; also, several other cousins and close friends; and her little fur ball, Hazy.

Wendy’s wants in life were very minimal but her love of life was abundant. She expressed her wishes for no visitation or funeral. Her many friends may celebrate and remember her their own way or through a donation to Heal Animal Rescue, 216 Depot Street, Youngwood, PA 15697 or to South Greensburg United Methodist Church, 411 Sheridan Avenue, South Greensburg, PA 15601.
