Theodore "Ted" Forbes, Jr.

Theodore Henderson “Ted” Forbes, Jr., 91, of Greensburg, formerly of Downingtown, died Thursday, October 13, 2022, in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg.  He was born April 19, 1931, in Ridley Park, a son of the late Theodore Henderson Forbes, Sr. and Frances Lewis Forbes.  He was a member and deacon of Doe Run Presbyterian Church.  He was a graduate of West Chester State College and received his Master of Education from Temple University.  Prior to retirement, he was employed by Coatesville Area Schools as a principal and math teacher.  Ted was a lifelong and avid Phillies fan.  He enjoyed travelling and spending time with his family.  He also was a member of Four Chaplains Legion of Honor.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Lisa Forbes.  He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruth Hope Thompson Forbes; 5 children, Stephen Theodore Forbes, David Bruce Forbes (Rhonda), Sharon Lee Elkettani (Dana Ferry), Patricia Diane Pearce (Jeff) and Jennifer Hope Forbes (Chris Restifo); 14 much-loved grandchildren and 10 cherished great grandchildren.  Most of all, he loved his wife.  There will be no visitation and a memorial service for Ted will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are being handled by Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, Greensburg.  For online condolences, please visit www.kepplegraft.com .
