Susan Lucas

September 15, 1943 — April 21, 2017

Susan "Liz" Lucas, 73, of Murrysville, died peacefully Friday, April 21, 2017, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born Sept. 15, 1943, in Cannonsburg. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrow Church in Murrysville. Susan graduated from Cannon McMillan High School in 1961. Susan was preceded in death by her mother, Stella DiMatteo, and her stepfather, Gent DiMatteo. Susan is survived by her loving husband, Kenny; her two sons, David K. Lucas and wife, Deirdre, of Greensburg, and Eric C. Lucas and wife, Susan, of Mt. Washington; brother, Jack Schmidt, of Florida; brother-in-law, Robert C. Lucas and wife, Patricia, of Elizabeth; and brother-in-law, Rich Lucas, of State College. In addition, surviving Susan are her three grandchildren, Paige, Parker and Presley, who were unquestionably the love of her life; also a number of nieces and nephews. Susan was quite accomplished having worked as both a registered nurse and an independent sales person. However, her primary job was that of mother and wife and she dedicated most of her life to these endeavors. She was an avid golfer and skier. She received much enjoyment from traveling with her husband, Kenny, and watching her grandchildren do absolutely anything. Susan had many admirable qualities but none more impressive than her ability to overcome adversity. She will be greatly missed by both her family and friends, but never forgotten. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 N. Main St., Greensburg. Parting prayers will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home followed by Susan's funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, 300 N. Main St., Greensburg.
