Rita Herd

November 25, 1929 — March 7, 2021

Rita C. Herd, 91, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully, Sunday, March 7, 2021 in Asbury Heights.  She was born in Greensburg, daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (Yusko) Zruno. She was a member of St. Bruno Church in South Greensburg. Rita worked at Southwest Bank for over 30 years. In her early years there she sang in their Christmas Choir. She was involved in many social activities, but she particularly enjoyed her bridge club. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Zruno; her husband of 62 years and love of her life Robert P. Herd. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Adamcyk and husband Michael; grandchildren Alex Adamcyk and Nicole (Adamcyk) and Dustin Stanton; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Thursday at KEPPLE GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 North Main St., Greensburg.  Visitors are asked to please wear a face mask and practice social distancing.  A private liturgy outside of mass will be held immediately after, followed by a Christian burial at Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.   The liturgy outside of mass will be available via livestream on Thursday at 11 am by visiting Rita’s obituary page at www.kepplegraft.com.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Asbury Heights Foundation, 700 Bower Hill Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15243.
