Richard A. “Rich” Cancro, Sr., of Saltsburg, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday, March 21, 2021, at his home. He was born in Pittsburgh on April 25, 1954, a son of the late P. Anthony “Patsy” and Dolores DeTesta Cancro. He was Catholic by faith and was a retiree of the International Brotherhood of the Boilermakers Local 154 in Pittsburgh. Rich was also a member of A.B.A.T.E. motorcycle club of Pennsylvania. In his retirement, he enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, working around the house, watching Pens games, and riding his motorcycle. More recently, he became passionate about Volkswagens and spent time restoring a Baja bug and working on his Dune buggy. Rich was free spirited and a fun guy, had many friends and would do anything for anybody. He is survived by his fiancé, Lucille “Chickie” Aleprete, sons, Richard A. Cancro, Jr., David Cancro, and Vince Aleprete; his brother, Carl Cancro (Melanie); 5 nephews, Carl Jr, George, Julian, Anthony and Cody. He will be missed by his dogs, Max and Maggie. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, March 25th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg. A private service for Rich will be held on Friday followed by interment at Brush Creek Cemetery. Visitors are asked to please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
