The Rev. Dr. Paul L. Westcoat, Jr. passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at RNC in Greensburg. He was born May 3, 1932, in McKeesport, PA to Beatrice and Paul L. Westcoat, Sr.
Paul is survived by his son, Todd and wife Charmaine; grandchildren: Todd’s children: Lauren May, Megan Westcoat and Andrew “Chip” Westcoat; Charmaine’s children: Kenny Angelini, Nikala Bugay and Stephanie Rzewnicki; great-grandchildren: Lauren and Tyler May’s daughter Lacey, Nikala Bugay’s daughters, Adelina and Jemma and Shephanie and Matt Rzewnicki’s sons Grayson and Rhett. Paul’s brother Fred Westcoat, his half-brother and sister Clint and Laura Westcoat, respectively. Fred Westcoat’s children: Scott Westcoat, Warren Westcoat and Ellen Jordan. Scott and Kathy Westcoat’s son Trevor and daughter Maddy, Warren and Eve Westcoat daughters Lyla and Joanie, Ellen and Michael Jordan’s daughters Ashley and Catherine.
He will be greatly missed by all, especially his grandchildren who have been very close. Lauren May spent a great deal of time with Poppa and Grack while she grew up. She also adopted his loving cat, Ed for him when he lost Grack’s cat Max. Megan and Andrew “Chip” Westcoat helped keep the house in order, especially Megan who cooked and cleaned for Poppa. Paul’s greatest joys were his God, family, country, church family, friends, and vacations at Stone Harbor, NJ.
Dr. Westcoat served as pastor to several United Church of Christ congregations in Pennsylvania and on many boards and committees statewide as well as nationwide. In addition, he served as Conference Minister for the Penn West Conference of the United Church of Christ for many years. He inspired and helped many people throughout his career and life, and truly fulfilled his promise to serve God. Paul made our world a better place.
Kepple-Graft Funeral Home is in charge of cremation services.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 27, at 2:30 PM at St. John’s Harrold Reformed United Church of Christ, 103 St. John’s Church Rd., Greensburg, PA 15601. The Rev David Ackerman and the Rev Robert Kruel will conduct the memorial service.
