Relton 'Pete' Starr

Relton Dean (“Pete”) Starr, 96, of Greensburg, passed away Monday, July 27, 2026. He was born November 24, 1929, in Kittanning PA, son of the late Paul and Ruth (Bleakney) Starr. 

After his retirement from West Penn Power in 1992, Pete and his wife, Nancy moved to Titusville, FL, where they enjoyed 22 happy and healthy years before moving back to Greensburg in 2015. Pete served his country as a corporal in the US Army.

In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy J. (Hubbard) Starr; his brother, John K. Starr; his sister, Anna Ruth (Starr) Rosenberger; and his grandson, Peter Thomas Goehrke. He is survived by daughter, Jane E. Klugh and husband James of Latrobe; daughter, Jacquelyn A. Goehrke and husband John of Cary, NC; and daughter, Janice K. Carlson and husband Jeffrey of Hudson, OH. He is also survived by grandchildren, Kristen Dias (Brett) of Greensburg, Kelly Byers (Jason) of Keller, TX, James R. Klugh of Latrobe, Brynn Leone (Keith) of Raleigh, NC, Jane Curto of Stamford, CT, Kaitlyn Carlson of Hudson, OH, and Dylan (Erin) Carlson of Columbus, OH. In addition, Pete is survived by great-grandchildren Sam and Aubree Vassar, Elyse and Claire Byers, Ryan and Bailey Klugh, Dean and Rhett Leone, Beckett, Emerson, and Sawyer Curto, and Josie Carlson.

Friends and family will be received from 11:00am-12:00pm on Saturday, August 8, 2026 followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm at KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Newhaven Court at Lindwood, Penn Hospice, Westmoreland Manor and Bridges Hospice for their care of Pete in recent years.
