Norma Jean Lynch Kauffman, 94 of Greensburg passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Redstone Highlands-Greensburg. She was born September 20, 1931 in Greensburg, the daughter of the late George and Anna (nee Methven) Lynch. Jean was an active member of St. Matthias Lutheran Church, Greensburg, for over 60 years; singing in the choir and serving on various committees. She was a graduate of Miss Conley's Business School and worked as a Secretary for various employers over the years. Jean was an advocate for persons with disabilities and was instrumental in bringing about both legislative and social change for people with developmental disabilities. Her work with the Achieva (ARC of Westmoreland County) remains her most lasting legacy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Donald F. Kauffman; son, Ronald George Kauffman; and brother, Robert Lynch.Jean is survived by her two sons, Rick (Sharon) of Houston, TX., and Jim (Susanne) of Phoenix, MD. Also surviving are three grandchildren - Bennett Kauffman of Phoenixville, PA, Rick Kauffman (Holly) of Apollo and Michelle-Ashley Amatangelo (David) of North Charleston, SC. She was also loved by and will be missed by great-grandchildren - Gabriel Amatangelo and Maddux Amatangelo, both of North Charleston, Heidi Plazio of Apollo; as well as nephews Bob (Josie) Kauffman, Dave (Pam) Kauffman and Eric Lynch. Family and friends will be received on Monday, July 6th from 9am to 11am at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg. A funeral service will follow on Monday, July 6th at 12pm at St. Matthias Lutheran Church, 100 Chapel View Drive, Greensburg, with interment to follow immediately after the service at Twin Valley Memorial Park.
