Nancy C. Nichols

Nancy Clendenin Nichols, 76, of Hidden Valley, PA passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at home surrounded by family and friends. Born September 5, 1947, in Williamsport, PA, a daughter of John Donald Clendenin and Jane Campbell Clendenin. Nancy was a graduate of Franklin Regional High School, and Seton Hill University. She worked for several years as a teacher for the Greensburg Salem School District. She loved raising her family and walking her dog. She also enjoyed her flowers and her birds. She is preceded in death by her parents, John D. Clendenin, and Jane C. Clendenin. Nan is survived by her husband, Dr. C. Richard Nichols, her son, John R. (Michele) Nichols, and her daughter, Lara N. (Robert) Rimmel. In addition, she is survived by her beloved grandchildren, Jake and William Rimmel, and Olivia Nichols; also, her brother, John C. Clendenin (Donna). A memorial service for Nan will be held at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 202 West Union Street, Somerset, PA. on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Matt Diehl officiating. The family would like to thank the Via Quest Hospice Team and especially Mrs. Joy Svonavec, her beloved nurse. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nan’s name to the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, or Tunnels to Towers in New York City.
