Michael Jones

Trooper Michael E. “Mike” Jones, 78, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully, Monday, March 6, 2023. He was born in Bellefonte on May 9, 1944, a son of the late Glenn N. and Lois Reese Jones. Prior to his retirement in 1999, he was a member of the Pennsylvania State Police for 33 years, where he worked in the Records and Identification Unit.  He was an active member of the National Fraternal Order of Police, Frank J. Kelly Lodge # 62.  He was a former member of the National Association for Identification and the National Rifle Association. He and his wife of 43 years enjoyed traveling and especially loved going on cruises.   He also enjoyed going to Steeler games and training camp at St. Vincent. He loved animals. Mike is survived by his wife, Lyda A. (Hild) Jones; brothers-in-law, Henry Hild (Leslie) of Knoxville, TN and Charles Hild (Arlene) of Olean, NY and Ft. Myers, FL. There will be no visitation and services will be private.
