Magdalene ‘Maggie" Bridget (Honeychuck) Cole, 95, of Greensburg, formerly of Scottdale & South Greensburg, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025 at her daughter's home in Jacksonville, Florida. Magdalene was born on October 8, 1929 and died just shy of her 96th birthday. She was a devout Catholic who was devoted to her family, loved fishing and the outdoors, while avidly keeping up with her loved ones on Facebook. Maggie never turned down an invitation for Scrabble or cards and loved the challenge of crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
Those who knew her affectionately as Mom, Mommy, Grandma, Meemaw, and Gigi will miss her smile, her laughter, and her triumphant calls of "Ace-Two-Three!"
Maggie was preceded in death by: her parents, Joseph & Catherine (Urban) Honeychuck; her loving husband of 55 years, Donald P. Cole of Scottdale, Pa; by two children, daughter Eileen "Beanie" (Cole) Moffa and son, Donald Cole; and by her four brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her very large family: her remaining children, daughter Jane (Cole) Clohessy & husband Richard, daughter Louise (Cole) Wilhelm & husband Robert, son David Cole & wife Karen, daughter Mary Ellen Cole, daughter Emily (Cole) Daloni & husband Peter, and daughter Barbara (Cole) Baker & husband Mark; dear friend Edward ‘Eddie' Nowicki, who was like a son to her; her grandchildren, Brian Wilhelm & wife Jennifer, Heather (Wilhelm) Walton & husband Scott, Aimee (Wilhelm) Adams, Erin (Clohessy) Vargo & husband Sean, Laura (Wilhelm) Lucas & husband David, Jacquelyn (Cole) Runco & husband Aaron, Julia Cole & wife Amber Miller, Joshua Monk & wife Melissa, Rachel (Monk) Tuttle & husband Nie, Alexis Daloni & partner Frank Correa, Peter Michael Daloni & partner Ashley Smith, Dominick Daloni & wife Julia Metelsky, John Daloni & wife Erin, Matthew Cole, Steven Cole & wife Sarah Cuellar Cole, Michael Cole, Mark James Baker & wife Brigid, Christina (Baker) Swink & husband David, Nicholas Baker & wife Melissa, Sara (Moffa) Monnich & husband Grant, Samuel Moffa & wife Alissa, and Antonio Moffa; as well as her 30 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, September 14, 2025 from 2pm-4pm and from 6pm-8pm at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg. Magdalene’s funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Grace Church, 1011 Mt. Pleasant Road, Greensburg at 10:00am. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. All are welcome to join the family for a luncheon afterwards at the No. 7 Hose Company, 625 East Pittsburgh Street in Greensburg.
