Kenneth Nelson

Kenneth Victor “Ken” Nelson, 79, of New Stanton, died, Sunday, January 17, 2021 in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital.  He was born in Youngwood on October 5, 1941, a son of the late Victor E. and Edith J. Iams Nelson.  Prior to retirement, he had a vending route and delivered for Coca-Cola.  He also worked as an assembler for Overly Door Manufacturing.   He was a veteran and served in the Army.  He was a member of the Fort Allen Antique Farm Equipment Association.  Ken enjoyed woodworking, fishing, traveling with his wife and attending races at Jennerstown Speedway.  He especially loved spending time with his grandkids.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his half-brother, Glenn Coneby and his half-sister, Caroline Coneby Starenchak.  He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Agnes L. Garris Nelson; daughter, Dina L. Nelson Stewart; brothers, August W.  Nelson (Donna Grace) and James L. Nelson (Peggy); his grandchildren, Benjamin and Samantha Stewart; stepsons, Larry Schuck (Theresa) and Timothy Schuck (Donna); stepdaughter, Cindy Monyok (Jason); step-grandchildren, Madeline, Emma and Ryan Schuck; also, a number of nieces and nephews.  Services for Ken will be private and are being handled by Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, Greensburg.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to help the Johnson’s Angels.  Please make checks payable to:  The Johnson’s Angels, First Commonwealth Bank, Mail Teller, P.O.
