Kathryn B. Smith

Kathryn 'Kitty' B. Smith, 96 of Greensburg, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Weatherwood Manor.

She was born September 19, 1927 in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Eugene Leon Bowers and Kathryn Martin Kuhns Bowers.

Kitty was a 1945 graduate of Jeannette High School. She was a proud career woman having worked as an Executive Secretary for several places including the United Methodist Church, Hanlon Wilson, Westinghouse, and the Atomic Energy Commission. Kitty was very dedicated to her family. She helped initiate and plan the bi-annual Bowers Family Reunion that still goes on today.  Kitty’s Sunday night dinners were a hit with her grandchildren.  Along with her husband, Tommy, she was a member of the Greensburg Country Club for decades. Kitty was also a Girl Scout Leader. She was an avid walker who enjoyed walks along Lynch Field and on the beach at her favorite vacation destination of Hilton Head.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas 'Tommy' McKee Smith; son, Lawrence McKee Smith; daughter, Jane Smith Clark; and sisters, Mary Ann Groth, Tillie Kintigh, and Nina Bowers.

Surviving are her son, Mike Smith and wife, Lori; seven grandchildren, Tommy Smith, Drew Smith, Paul Smith, Sara (Smith) Barton, Molly (Smith) Holway, Jennifer (Clark) Boden, and Casey Clark; six great-granddaughters, one great-grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, December 17th from 5 to 7pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg. Services and burial will be private
