Joyce Long

Joyce Gene Watson Long, 82, of Greensburg, PA died Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital.  She was born on August 13, 1935, a daughter of the late James G. and Emily M. Clark Watson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward S. Long; 2 daughters and 1 son; a brother, Jack W Watson; sisters, Joetta Watson and Janice Watson Dunn.  Joyce is survived by 2 stepsons, Douglas Long (Donna) of Shreveport, LA ad Jeffery Long (Annie) of Albion, NY; daughter, Sarah Long of Greensburg; 2 sons, Quint Long of Columbus OH and Clint Long (Marsha) of Greensburg;  1 step grandson;  1 step granddaughter, 1 step great grandson, 2 step great granddaughters and a grandson, Jacob D. Long.  Joyce was a retired cosmetology teacher/manager for Pennsylvania Beauty Academy, K-Mar Beauty Academy and Winter’s Beauty Salon.  She also was a volunteer librarian at Bovard Elementary School for 11 years.  She was a charter member of Applachian Wagon Train Association, Bend of the River Wagon Train, Tri-County Pony Horse and Mule Pullers Association and Fort  Allen Antique Farm Equipment Association.  She was also on Pennsylvania Reading Council and National Reading Council.    Joyce was a lifelong member of First Reformed United Church of Christ, Greensburg where she happily served as a Sunday school teacher for decades as well as many other capacities.  Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 10 am until the hour of service at 11 am at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg.  Private interment will be held in St. Clair Cemetery.  For online condolences, please visit www.kepplegraft.com
