Joy Blystone

Joy Elaine Blystone, 83 passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at her home in Greensburg.  She was born March 3, 1934 in Greensburg, daughter of the late John Jamison and Florence (Higgins) Moorhead.

Joy was a graduate of Greensburg Salem High School Class of 1952 and worked for the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County (Water Dept.) before becoming a wonderful wife and mother raising four sons.

She was a member of the Open Door Baptist Church of Greensburg for over 7 decades.  She devoted her life to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and that eternal salvation is available for all by faith in Him. She stood by the gospel of Jesus Christ her entire life and loved to say, “There is no greater life, than to spend a life serving the Lord Jesus Christ.”

In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William Bruce Blystone; her second husband, Donald Hazel; a brother, Jamison Moorhead and a sister Florence Mennow.

She is a wonderful mother, a beautiful friend and person. She will be greatly missed.

Surviving are her four sons, Daniel and wife Erin Blystone of Greensburg; Philip and wife Jessica Blystone of Annandale, VA; Timothy Blystone of Rural Valley, David and wife Anna Blystone of Blairsville. Seven grandchildren, Blaine, Phillip, Andrew, Zack, Jared, Emily and James.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from noon to 4 pm in the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, INC.  524 N. Main St. Greensburg. Joy’s funeral service will he held on Monday at 11 am in the Open Door Baptist Church, 970 N. Main St. Greensburg with Rev.
