Joseph R. Barozzini, 76, of Latrobe, passed away Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018. He was born Dec. 14, 1941, in Greensburg, a son of the late Florindo and Margaret (Trayter) Barozzini.
Prior to his retirement, Joe had been employed by the Elliott Co. He was a veteran of the Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War era, and was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. Joe had many interests, and among them were reading, woodworking, bowling, fishing and gardening. He was an incredibly devoted husband to his wife, Judy, prior to her passing. He was a Pitt Panthers and Penguins fan and could always be caught waving his Terrible Towel and screaming at the TV on Sundays. His love for the Steelers was only superseded by his love for his daughters and his grandchildren.
Joe is survived by his loving family, three daughters, Jaylene Miller and husband, Daniel; Joelle Barozzini and husband, Sean and Justine Giffen and husband, Jay; six grandchildren, whom he adored, Dakota Buhrman, Katerina Miller, Noah Dann and Cooper Dann, Maxwell and Maya Giffen; his brother, Thomas Barozzini and wife, Barbara; his mother-in-law, Grace I. Jurcevich; and several nieces and nephews. He was loved and will be missed by all. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Judy A. (Jurcevich) Barozzini; and his father-in-law, William Jurcevich.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, where prayers of transfer will be said at 9 a.m. Tuesday, followed by his funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cooper's Campaign, a campaign started by his 11-year-old grandson, Cooper.
