Jay Alvin Rice, 86, of Clarksville, TN, formerly of Greensburg, died Saturday, November 18, 2017 in Tennova Healthcare Hospital, Clarksville, TN. He was born on September 30, 1931 in Greensburg, a son of the late George Edward Rice, Sr. and Loretta Pearl Hatfield Rice. He was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church, Greensburg. Jay was an Army veteran and served stateside during the Korean War. Prior to retirement, he worked for American Tank and Concrete, Greensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, George, Jr., Kenneth, Franklin and Charles Rice; also, his sister, Miriam Rice Hayden. Jay is survived by his niece and caretaker, Phyllis Snyder of Clarksville, TN; also, several other nieces and a nephew and a number of great nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 10 am until the hour of Jay’s funeral service at 11am at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg.
