Jan Rupp

Jan D. Rupp, 80, of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022 in Saint Anne Home.

She was born December 14, 1941 in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late John Descalzi and Elizabeth Descalzi .

Jan was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Greensburg and was a faithful follower of Jesus.

She was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where she earned a degree in English Literature. Jan received her Masters Degree as a Reading Specialist from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority at University of Pittsburgh.

Prior to retirement she taught in Bethel Park School District, Greensburg Salem School District, and Jeannette City School District. Jan was affectionately known to family and close friends as Nana.  She was a member of the Greensburg Country Club and was the President of the Westmoreland Hospital Auxiliary. Jan was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling.

Jan appreciated spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandsons.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Rupp.

Surviving are her son, Dr. Richard Rupp, MD and his wife, Dr. Roya Javid Rupp, MD; daughter, Kathleen Lloyd and husband, David; grandsons, Alexander, Nicholas, Tucker, and Tristan, and brother, Jay A. Descalzi.

Family and friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home, 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg. Services will be held on Tuesday at 10am in First Presbyterian Church 300 S. Main Street, Greensburg. Everyone is to go directly to the church.

Entombment will follow in the St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg.
