James Brent Hooten of New Alexandria, PA died on August 7, 2017. James was born on September 30, 1969 in Greenville, Texas to Sandra Lynn and James Douglas Hooten. He attended High School at Evangel Temple in Grand Prairie Texas where he excelled in athletics and was a star in both football and track. He then attended Navarro Junior College in Corsicana Texas on a football scholarship and subsequently attended Dallas Art Institute.
James has resided in the New Alexandria area since August of 2000.
James was preceded in death by his father James Douglas Hooten who passed away on July 20, 2017 in Tyler Texas and is interred at the National Cemetery in Dallas Texas.
He is survived by his son, James Marshall Hooten, his step-daughters, Amanda, Alyssa, and Paige, and their mother Carol Spencer and step-grand-children Aurora and Flynn.
He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Amy and David Dodgen, his mother and step-father Sandra and Michael McCarthy, his niece and nephew Morgan, Ethan, and Lindsey all of Longview, Texas and his step-mother Cheryl Hooten of Arlington, Texas. He is also survived by his aunt and uncle Sylvia and Jack Brandon, cousins Greg and Cheryl, cousins Kim and Doug of Texas, aunt Becky McLain of Texas and cousin Douglas Hooten of Oklahoma.
