Jacob Frenchek

March 25, 1990 — March 22, 2021

Jacob (Jake) Patrick Frenchek 30, of Greensburg passed away on Monday, March 22nd  in Myrtle Beach, SC from a tragic accident.  Jake is predeceased by his Maternal grandparents, Chester Nowicki and Margaret (McCrory) Nowicki, and his Paternal grandparents, Chester Frenchek and Olga (Dyky) Frenchek.  Jake is survived by his loving parents Tom Frenchek and Karin (Nowicki) Frenchek, a sister Emily Jobe ( Frenchek) and her husband Ryan, and a brother Zachary Frenchek and his wife Jen (Fein).

Jake is also survived by loving aunts and uncles, Tom Nowicki and his wife Diane, Rita Pfrimmer, Ronnie Seybold and husband Doug, Barb Choma and husband Paul, Judy Grocutt, Kathy Lalor and husband Tim, and Michael Frenchek and wife Christine.  Jacob is also survived by numerous cousins and his three nephews that he was so proud to show off:  Jack Jobe, Wyatt Jobe and Waylon Jobe.

Jake was in early recovery from the insidious disease of alcoholism; he fought a long, hard battle and had made significant progress.  He wanted to go to the beach to get a fresh start on his life and suffered a seizure in a hot tub while there.

Jake was a very talented drummer and carried his drumsticks wherever he went; he said “You know how little babies have their blanket?  Well, that is what my drumsticks are to me.”  Jake played snare drum in the marching band at Greensburg-Salem High School and went on to join the IUP Marching Band.

Jake was a quiet soul with a heart of gold and we will miss his amazing hugs and his sweet, quiet voice.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to Sage's Army in Greensburg.  Carmen Capozzi and his staff were so instrumental in Jake's recovery and he loved them so.
