Gladys M. Scekeres

Gladys M. Scekeres, 82 of Latrobe, passed away on June 2, 2026 at her residence. She was born July 19, 1943 in Latrobe, PA, a daughter of the late Domenick and Edna Mae (Dwyer) Leone. Gladys was a member of St. Vincent Basilica. She owned her own beauty shop for 60 years and worked as a hairdresser for Kepple-Graft Funeral Home for nearly 50 years. Gladys was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, especially her beloved Steelers. She loved being home at her pool. Gladys also enjoyed going to the casino, bingo, ceramics, and baking. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, George Leone and his wife, Helen; and brothers-in-law, Tom Rhome, Dennis Giannilli, Howard Hayden, and Gerald Shick. Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Paul Scekeres; daughter, Colleen Scekeres; son, Domenick Scekeres (Kristen); grandchildren, Kayne Adams (Sang), Vanessa Adams, Carissa Rhoads (Cam), Gianna Skoloda, Owen Vallorani, and Natalia Scekeres; siblings, Santa Rhome, Catherine Shick, Donna Hayden, Robert Leone (Lisa Williams), and Linda Giannilli; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Friday, June 5, 2026 from 2 to 8pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home, 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg, PA. Services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 10am at St. Vincent Bascilia 300 Fraser Purchase Road, Latrobe, PA. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church.
