George Workman

July 4, 1925 — March 14, 2018


George William “Bill” Workman, 92 years young of Greensburg passed away Wednesday March 14, 2018, while vacationing in Myrtle Beach, SC.  He was born July 4, 1925, in Dunbar Township, the son of Daniel and Mary Ruth (Whipkey) Workman.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Clara Marie (Anderson) Workman.  He is survived by daughters Darla Klein (Fred) and Linda Morelli (John Irwin).  He was Methodist by faith. Prior to retirement from American Stemware he spent the majority of his work years at Walworth Valve CO, Greensburg.  George was a proud Army veteran of WWII having served as a member of the IV Infantry Division fighting in France, Belgium, Luxembourg,and Germany.  He was a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge.  George was a member of the American  Legion Post 0344 in Jeannette and a devoted supporter of the Disabled American Veterans.  He was the last surviving charter member of the Fort Allen Antique Farm Equipment Association which he formed with a few men in 1964.  Having had great interest in tractors and farm equipment he also belonged to the National Pike Steam, Gas, and Horse Association, Brush Valley Antique Iron and Power Club, and NW PA Steam Engine and Old Equipment Association.  He was a life time member of Youngwood Sportsmen.  George was preceded in death by siblings Harry Workman, Carl Workman, Marie Schrock, Anna Mae Silbaugh Hoover, Hilda Nazar and Dorothy Nelson; grandson Daniel G Morelli and great-grandson Jonathan Morelli.  He is survived by grandchildren Lisa (Sean) Stipp, Jeffrey Morelli (Michelle), and Lori (Aaron) Calcott; great grandchildren Michael Morelli, Joshua Colletta, Antonio Morelli, Zia Stipp, Angeline Tome, Isaac Stipp, Quintin Calcott, Camryn Calcott; and a very special friend, Cass Vogel.  We will miss him forever.

Family and friends will be recieved on Sunday from 3-7pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 10:30am.

Interment with military honors accorded by the Jeannette Combined Veterans will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions be made to the Disabled American Veterans www.dav.org.
