George Hrico
June 23, 1949 — May 4, 2016
George J. Hrico, 66, of Hempfield Twp., passed away, Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Excela Westmoreland Hospital.
He was born June 23, 1949 in Homestead, a son of the late George and Florence (Lovas) Hrico. George was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Prior to retirement, he worked as a mechanical engineer for Design Engineering Analysis Corp. George was a devoted Christian and generous family man. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors - especially at his cabin in Potter County.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janis Hrico.
George is survived by his loving wife, MaryAnn (Shaffer) Hrico, his daughters, Melissa Hrico and Gabrielle Holmes (Chris); son, George P. Hrico (Stephanie); his beloved granddaughter, Hanna Holmes; sister, Mary Rehak (Eric); brother, Jan (Laurie) Hrico; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Friday from 3-7pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg.
A prayer service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 9am followed by a funeral mass at the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral 300 N. Main Street, Greensburg at 9:30am.
Interment will follow in the Westmoreland Co. Memorial Park.
