Gene M. Wigfield, "Wiggy", 72 of rural Greensburg, passed away, Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at his childhood home after a brief battle with cancer.
He was born May 3, 1941 to Frank C. and Olive J. Hafer Wigfield.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Janet 'Sis', Francis 'Sandy', and Donald.
Surviving are daughter, Melony Harr of Ligonier, son, Gene 'Butch' (Maria) Wigfield, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, granddaughter, Cheuenne Harr of Ligonier, and sister, Margaret 'Peggy' (Doug) Kelly of Akron, OH. He is also survived by former son-in-law, Frank Harr, Jr., great nephew, Bill Shaw as well as numerous other family and friends.
A special thanks to Cheryl Sullenberger for her care in his final months.
Wiggy will be remembered by most for his sense of humor and adventure.
Honoring his request, there will be no public services. A private memorial gathering will take place in Potter County, PA at a later date.
