Dorothy Hart

January 8, 1923 — March 9, 2017

Dorothy Jean Hart 94 of Hempfield Twp, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Excela Health Westmoreland.

She was born January 8, 1923 in Hempfield Township a daughter of the late Ruth  (Holtzer) and C. Homer Miller, Sr.

Dorothy was a member Armbrust Wesleyan Church. She was an active member of the Sewickley Grange for over fifty years. Dorothy was a very active, charitable, faithful contributor to her community. She enjoyed being a 4H Leader and part of the Youngwood Garden Club, Westmoreland Food Bank, Baltzer Meyer Historical Society and the Joy fellowship.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel W. Hart; a son, Gerald L. Hart; siblings, Alice Pore, C. Homer Miller, Jr., Robert C. Miller, Dale R. Miller, Thomas Miller, Merle R. Miller; and three infants.

She is survived by six children, Ruth Ann Hart of Hermitage, David A. Hart and wife, Jean, of Berlin, Bonnie S. Coleman of Bernalillo, NM, Connie L. Dayton of Bernalillo, NM, Cindy M. Wells and husband, George, of Jeannette and Glenn A. Hart and wife, Patricia, of Southwest; six grandchildren, Shawn and wife, Marlana, Seth and wife, Kelly, Michele, Amy and husband, Jason, Jera and Jennifer and husband, Chris; eleven great grandchildren; siblings, Jim Miller and wife Donna Lee of Lakeland, FL, Karl Miller of Muskogee, OK, Helen Miller of Hempfield Township, Donna Mull and husband Merle of Greensburg,  and Phyllis Frye of Slickville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Armbrust Wesleyan Church 7790 PA-819, Armbrust, PA 15616.

Additional visitation will be held in the church on Monday from 2 until the time of service at 3pm.

Interment will follow in the Harrold Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Greensburg.

At the request of the family, please do not send flowers due to allergies. Memorial contributions can be made to Armbrust Wesleyan Church.
