Mr. Donald J. Lettrich, 89, of Greensburg, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. He was born on November 18, 1936, in Charleroi, to the late Joseph Lettrich Jr. and Millie Lettrich. Donald was a graduate of Charleroi High School and earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Penn State University. His professional life was dedicated to practicing architecture in Westmoreland County, first as a partner in the Roach, Walfish, Lettrich Architecture Firm. Later, he continued his career in partnership with his brother in The Lettrich Group. His work has left a lasting visual impression on Westmoreland County, including contributions to the Westmoreland County Courthouse, hospitals, schools, and countless commercial buildings throughout the region. His love for the three-dimensional art of building and architecture was more than a profession; it was a lifelong passion that brought him great joy and purpose. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Donald embraced life with many passions, including sports cars, autocross, where he proudly earned numerous trophies, snow skiing, and water skiing. Fiercely independent, he delighted in anything that let him go fast. He was well known in the community for the many Corvettes he drove throughout much of his life. His home of 56 years, designed and built by Donald himself in 1969, was his pride and joy and was filled with numerous oil paintings, watercolors, and sketches created by both himself and his brother, Robert. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dr. Sondra D. Lettrich, with whom he shared more than 50 years of marriage. Donald is survived by his two sons, Donald R. Lettrich and his wife, Erika, of Murrysville, and David N. Lettrich of Greensburg; four grandchildren, Kasey, Joseph, Natalia, and Carolina; his brother, Robert Lettrich of Charleroi; and his sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Charles Rose of Virginia. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 4th at KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME 524 North Main Street, Greensburg. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 5th at Charter Oak Church, Frye Farm Campus. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bridge to the Mountains.
