David Benner

Rev. David W. Benner, 64 of Latrobe passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at his home.

He was born in Millerstown, PA, the son Park Benner and the late Florence (Shellenberger) Benner.

Rev. Benner was pastor of Blainesburg Bible Church of West Brownsville where he dedicated 18 years to the congregation he truly loved.  For 45 years in total, he ministered at many other churches throughout western PA. He traveled throughout the tri state area with Bittersweet and The Benner family singing gospel music. He was also President of the Tristate Gospel Music Association and promoted gospel concerts. He worked as a salesman for various companies and worked for various businesses.

David was always helping people.  Especially his neighbors and elderly widows.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to auctions.  He also had a extensive collection of eagle figurines and paintings.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sharon F. (Hostetler) Benner; daughter, Michele Benner; stepmother, Jackie  Benner; sisters, Carol Benner, Connie Benton, and Faith Benner; several nieces and nephews; and he is also survived by many loving and supporting in laws of the Hostetler family.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg.

Additional visitation will held on Friday at Word of Life Church 4497 State Route 136, Greensburg from 10am until the time of service at 11am with Pastor Sheldon Moore officiating.

Private internment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park
