Carolyn Bair

Carolyn “Sis” Franz Bair, 90, of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Redstone Presbyterian surrounded by her family.

She was born September 29, 1934, in Freeport, Illinois, the daughter of Arthur and Gladys Franz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Wilbert O. Berthold, husband, Donald S. Bair; sister, Mary Schwartz; stepson, Edward Bair; son-in-law, David DePriest; and daughter-in-law, Sherri Berthold.

Carolyn was employed by Gibson Electric but spent most of her life as a homemaker. She is survived by six children, Jeffrey Berthold, Portland, OR; Pamela (Jeffrey) Schultz, Boalsburg, PA; James (Carol) Berthold, Pittsburgh, PA; Joseph (Dorcas) Berthold, Denton, TX; Dianne (Joseph) Patonetz, Myrtle Beach, SC; and Mary Lynn Berthold DePriest, Altoona, PA; one brother, Arthur (Angie) Franz, Chicago, IL; one sister, Georgiann (Tim) Sands, San Diego, CA; 11 grandchildren, Lauren (Cody) Anders, Katie Berthold, Melissa (Graham) Bartlett, Angela Cepullio, Brett Cepullio, Rachel (Ryan) Donahue, Anna (Matt) Berthold, Meghan (Jake) Berthold, Mady (Joe) Cannaday, Leah (Mike) Caravaggio, Zachary (Gabby) Caravaggio, and eight great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 3-5pm at KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home with a prayer service to begin at 5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
