Carol Cammuso, 77, of Greensburg, passed away on January 3, 2026, at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born on March 26, 1948, in Donora, Pennsylvania, to Stephen and Eva Piskor. Their home was shared by older siblings - Stephen and Mary Ann, and younger siblings, Kathie, Tommy, and Arlene. Carol earned a Bachelor of Education, a Master of Education, and a Master of School Counseling from California University of Pennsylvania. She dedicated more than 40 years to education as an elementary school teacher and counselor, serving the Latrobe and Hempfield School Districts and advocating tirelessly for children in need.In retirement, Carol enjoyed creative writing, dance, meditation, watercolor painting, travel, and volunteer work. She was especially devoted to the Greensburg-based nonprofit Feeding the Spirit. Whether she was organizing a support group, study circle, book club, or reiki share, she was always seeking opportunities to connect with others. Carol’s life was a story of survival and resilience against the odds. She loved difference and embraced it, always coveting new experiences: a visit to a Tibetan monastery, an Indian market, a Russian bathhouse. She was eager to learn what other cultures had to teach and understood that difference is what makes the world such a vibrant and dynamic place. She is survived by her two daughters, Aubrey Adamson and Aerin Tuchman; her two grandchildren, Jones Tuchman and Luna Tuchman; her longtime partner of 14 years, Chuck Engel; and her cat, Jingles. In accordance with her wishes, a private Celebration of Life will be held. Memorial donations may be made to Feeding the Spirit at www.feedingthespirit.org.
