Carlita MaeRene Reed, 91 of Greensburg passed away Monday, September 4, 2017 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital.

She was born August 6, 1926 in Owasso, Michigan a daughter of the late Rita (Meade)  and Carl Cox.

Carlita was a very active member of First United Methodist Church in Greensburg. She sang in the choir and worked in the kitchen. Carlita belonged to Westmoreland Hospital Unit 14, the Literary Guild, United Methodist Women, and the Westmoreland Hunt.

She worked as a Owner/Operator  for Springhouse Tack Shop for fifty one years. After her husband, Fred, retired they would spend winters in Bahia Honda, FL on their boat, the Carita and they sailed for many years. Carlita was a very active gardener and loved tending both flowers and vegetables which she canned. She also rode horses, bowled, played tennis and bridge, sewed, knitted, and painted. She was known to wallpaper and paint the inside of her home many times. She also played piano. Carlita loved her dogs Missy and Buddy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred A. Reed in 2003.

Surviving are her children, Paul Armer Reed of Greensburg and Renee Annette Poorbaugh Seifert and husband, Bernard F. Seifert of Indian Head; her grandson, Adam Stewart Poorbaugh and wife, Trisha of Mesa, AZ; and sister, Paula Schumacher of Beaverton, MI.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 4-7pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg.

Additional visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:30 to 11am in First United Methodist Church 15 East Second Street, Greensburg where services will be held at 11am with Rev. Anette V. Gerber officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Greensburg.
