MSgt Bradley J. Dovey, retired, of Greensburg, Pennsylvania went to be with his Good Shepherd and loved ones in heaven on January 11, 2026, after a courageous, hard-fought battle with cancer. He was a member of Grace Revolution Church — Joseph Prince Ministries. Brad was born on November 26, 1965, to Eleanor (Hutchings) Dovey and Dr. Robert L. Dovey at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Hempfield Area School District with the Spartan class of 1984. Brad earned a B.A. in History and Elementary Education from Seton Hill University and an M.A. in History from Slippery Rock University.
On April 28, 1990, Brad married his close childhood friend, Leslie A. Allison. Brad and Leslie were inseparable best friends who had great love and adoration for one another and made their way in life with great humor alongside their daughter and adopted tribe. Brad was Leslie's compassionate and protective caregiver and her biggest supporter in all that she did. They would have been married 36 years this coming April. Brad gave his wife and daughter the moon and the stars; he was a wonderful gift from God to Leslie and their girl. He was the most loyal, kind, generous, and funny husband, daddy, son, brother, and friend.
Brad served honorably and with great dedication and humility for 20 years in the PA Air National Guard (Services Flight) at the 171st Air Refueling Wing in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. Brad absolutely loved being in the US Air Force, and he had a steadfast commitment to duty. He was a disabled veteran, serving in the Persian Gulf War in Operations Enduring Freedom and Southern Watch. He was a great manager, teacher, mentor, and friend to many at the base and wanted to give his all to everyone. He was medically retired from active duty service in September 2016.
Beyond his military service, Brad was known for his great sense of humor and showing appreciation to others through the gifting of food. He loved playing D & D, board games, and video games, always ready to enjoy a game with his kids. He loved watching old westerns, M.A.S.H., Glee, and he was a huge fan of Disney musicals. Brad also loved fishing, target shooting, and bowling with his friends and family; he was a true cowboy at heart. He also never lost an opportunity to tease his wife and daughter.
Brad's family is devastated by his loss. He is survived by his mom, Eleanor Dovey, his dad, Dr. Robert L.
