Angeline Chelan

Angeline L. “Ange” Chelan, 88, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, January 23, 2018 in Weatherwood Manor, Greensburg surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on February 26, 1929 in Johnstown, a daughter of the late Angelo and Margaret Gentile Lapaglia.  She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Parish.  Along with her husband Tony, Ange was a regular camper at Fox Den Acres.  She enjoyed playing bingo and participated in various other activities with friends that she made at Weatherwood Manor.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony T. “Tony” Chelan, Jr. in 2010.  She is survived by her daughters, Linda Balles (Hank) of Ligonier and Cathy Piper (Mark) of Delmont; 6 grandchildren, Amy Roadman (Jason), Scott Balles (Olga), Robin Balles Cervantes (Rocky), Jennifer Altman (Brian), Christopher Piper (fiancé, Kristen) and Justin Piper (Michelle); 8 great grandchildren, Brooke, Jacob, Rafael, Addison, Brinlee, Cooper, Gavin and Avery; sisters, Sarah DePasquale of Greensburg and Frances Fannerella of Las Vegas; also, numerous nieces and nephews.  Family and friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg.  Prayers of transfer will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 9:15 am followed by Angeline’s funeral mass at 10 am in Our Lady of Grace Parish, Greensburg.  Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to UPMC Senior Communities Benevolent Fund, c/o Weatherwood Manor, 896 Weatherwood Lane, Greensburg, PA 15601.  The Chelan Family would like to thank the staff of Weatherwood Manor, Dr. Jill Constantine and her staff and Excela Home Health and Hospice staff for the great care they gave to Ange and for the compassion provided to her family.  For online condolences, please visit www.kepplegraft.com.
