Andrew I. Kocinski, 81, of Greensburg, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, surrounded by his loved ones. Andrew was born June 11, 1941, in Mt. Pleasant, son of the late Andrew T. and Dorothy Yeneral Kocinski. The week after graduating from Jeannette High School in 1959, Andy enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served three years on the submarine tender USS Fulton (AS-11) during the Vietnam War as an Opticalman. Andy went on to become a career locksmith and retired as the Head Locksmith at Carnegie Mellon University. Andy was a member of the Jeannette American Legion, Post #344 and was a member and past vice president of the USS Fulton (AS-11) Association. Andy was a solid, family man whose priority was taking care of his loved ones. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family and loved working in his yard. In addition to his parents, Andrew was preceded in death by his son, Andrew C. Kocinski; granddaughter, Andrea Kocinski; sister, Rosalie Eckenrod; and, sister-in-law, Donna Chanon. Andrew is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Judith A. Chanon Kocinski; son, Richard J. Kocinski; granddaughters, Jennifer Susman (Jonathan) and Jessica Nowlin (Robert): 4 great grandchildren, Joshua Kovalcin, Taylor Susman, Robert Nowlin III and Olivia Nowlin; brother, Edward Kocinski (Vesta); sisters, Romona Parsons and Dorothy Gorow (Jeff); also, numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from Noon until 4 pm at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg. Parting prayers will be held on Monday at 9 am in the funeral home followed by Andrew’s funeral mass at 9:30 am at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, 300 North Street, Greensburg. Entombment will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Westmoreland County Food Bank or a charity of your choice.
